Finals Victory!!!

October 10, 2015

Going into the last round of the season we still had 8 teams who could qualify for finals, which is an amazing effort for the club! Unfortunately our B5s and C4(2)s missed out on fourth place by 1 point so they weren’t eligible for finals.

We had 6 teams play in the semi-finals with the B4s, C2(2)S and C4(1)s winning on the day and securing their places in the grand finals. The C2(1)s also won which meant they proceeded to the preliminary finals the following week.  The C1s unfortunately lost so they were out of the race and B2s narrowly lost to Swish which meant they too would need to win the following week at the prelims.

The B2s and C2(1)s fought hard in the preliminary finals but unfortunately both teaFinalsms narrowly lost on the day.

The grand final was such an amazing day for the club. We had lots of supporters attend the games to cheer our girls on which shows what a great club culture we have. The C4(1)s and C2(2) both lost by only 4 goals but we had a victory with the B4s who beat Old Iggies 58 – 47!

After the matches we all headed back to Walkerville Football Club for presentations and some drinks to celebrate the great finish to our 2015 season.

Bring on the 2016 season!
