The competition

There is no typical participant.

Our players include young people with sensory processing differences, Autism, ADHD and intellectual disabilities, at varying experience levels. There is no prior netball knowledge needed. Some are building skills and confidence toward club netball, and for others these sessions are focusing on social engagement and being part of a community whilst building gross motor skills. Sessions are run with allied health oversight, with a predictable routine, plenty of flexibility, and break-out spaces. If your young person is outside of these ages but would still benefit, please get in touch to discuss options!

Before you register

Good questions.

The things families ask us most, answered once, properly.

01What does a typical session look like?

Sessions run to a predictable routine, so your young person knows what's coming. Within that, we always stay flexible!

The netball itself includes passing, catching, shooting, moving. We ensure each young person has their individual goals for the session and term. This looks different for everyone.

Alongside that we work on gross motor skills, and we build in plenty of room for kids to connect with each other. Sensory and gross motor break-out spaces are available the whole session to provide a break where needed . Every session has allied health oversight.

02Are parents or carers required to participate?

We work with each family on what best supports their young person. That might mean a parent staying close by, or building independence alongside a coach. Support workers are welcome, and siblings can join in free of charge.

04I'm not sure if this program is right for my young person. What should I do?

Get in touch with Liz at wncjuniors@gmail.com and have a chat.

From there we can book a free come-and-try session, so your young person can see the space and meet the coaches without committing to anything. Have a think about what might help them, this might be a support person, a sibling or a friend coming along.

05What does inclusive netball cost?

Come-and-try sessions during the holidays and at the end of each term are free. Term registration is $100 a term, including GST, and can be subsidised with SA sports vouchers.

03What do participants need to wear or bring?

Comfortable clothes they can move in. Non-marking shoes such assneakers. A water bottle.

Bring any sensory or communication aids that help your young person take part. We have some available if you need them.
